Today we went to Pt Erin Pools with the Anawhata Pod. We had so much fun playing cricket, jumping off the diving boards and splashing Miss Buchanan(who always wins!). Miss Buchanan loved spending time with us outside of school and enjoyed singing with us on the bus. At the end of the day six kids fell asleep on the way back to school and were rudely awakened by Sam yelling in their ears.
Today we had our first "Freaky Friday". I believe that to create life long learners the students need to love coming to school. A way of ensuring this love of learning is by having freaky fridays. We will have them every few weeks and they are just used as a bit of a pick me up or motivation for the students.
This friday was crazy hair day. All the kids came to school with bright wigs, painted hair and crazy styles. Those who didn't were attacked by Miss Buchanan and her " barber chair" and emerged looking just as crazy as the rest of us!
Hi, my name is Miss Buchanan and I am the lucky teacher who gets to work in Room 19. We have just started a new year at Summerland Primary and I am very excited to get to know my class. I am sure that we will have a lot of fun and learn many amazing things.
